"Quiddity Wines is a family owned winery located in the Warehouse Winery District of Woodinville, Washington. This was not an obvious outcome because my whole life, I worked hard to be successful and do a good job, working within the rules that were provided to me.  You know…get good grades, get the right degree, work hard, climb the ladder, etc.  After years of working hard at this approach, I found that I had been very successful at getting somewhere I wasn’t sure I wanted to be.  While reflecting upon advice Russell Wilson received from his father (“Why not you Russell?”), I decided to indulge my life-long passion for wine and give winemaking a try.  Starting a winery is my effort to move forward on my own terms.  I set out to make a good product, bring a smile to people’s faces, have fun, and not take life too seriously.  I do that by focusing on making good wines, without getting caught up in all of that wine snob hullabaloo.  I focus on red wines made with Rhone varietals because…well, that is what I like.  Also, I strive for wines that are different than the many Bordeaux and Washington blends.  I am targeting a “new-old-world” style that capitalizes on the tremendous “new world” fruit that we have in Washington while showcasing that fruit in an “old world” style with a lighter touch from the winemaker."  – Greg Peiker

Philosophy: Make wines that are well made (but not technically perfect as technically perfect wines can be boring), food friendly, and darn tasty.  I like to appreciate wines for what they are rather than assess how well they fit a style and highlight what they aren’t.  I try to make wines and offer them in an environment that is relaxed and interesting to someone who knows a lot about wine as well as someone who is new to wine.  I make wines that I like and try to make wines that don’t suck.

 Quiddity means “the quality that makes a thing what it is, or the essential nature of a thing.” It crystalizes what I am trying to do, make quality wines that display the essential nature of their grape varietals.
